Boss Quests

The Bells Tarnish, and Demorrah cries out

Boss Quests are multi-layered narrative prompts that affect the overall world state of Demorrah. Each quest introduces a major conflict, often involving a powerful figure, cursed artifact, or unfolding tragedy. Player submissions determine how the story resolves and what changes ripple through the realm.

Boss Quests are optional, but they offer high EXP and significant influence on the future of the world. Characters who participate are forever tied to the event’s outcome, and those who don't... still bear the consequences of their inaction.

The Mirror of Mourning

A dark mirror with the hazy image of a dragon in it.

In the Guildmaster's private quarters sits a strange and sorrowful artifact: the Mirror of Mourning. She watches it daily, a quiet ritual of reflection and dread.

The mirror does not show all possible futures—only the ones born from loss.

Sometimes Ember sees enough to write a quiet quest, passed off as a traveler’s request.

Other times, the mirror moves on its own. When it appears in the guild hall, flickering where the quest board should be, everyone understands: the world has reached a critical moment.

When the Mirror appears, the bells darken.

Boss Quests aren’t just prompts. They are turning points. They close eras, unlock new quests, retire old ones, and alter the emotional tone of the world. Sometimes, they even shift the guild itself. Your art doesn’t just tell the story. It becomes the story. And if the bells are black, be careful what story you choose to tell.
