Welcome to the Moderator Team!
Being a moderator is a commitment to maintaining a safe, engaging, and fair environment for all server members. This guide will walk you through the responsibilities, tools, and protocols you’ll need to follow. You represent the guild’s leadership in all visible interactions. Professionalism, emotional maturity, and fairness are non-negotiable. This position is not about status, but about being the foundation upon which all of these artists can build their kingdoms.
Read this guide carefully. Do not skim or skip sections. If anything is unclear, ask questions!
Basic Moderation Responsibilities
-
Ensure users follow the server rules.
-
Prevent and/or diffuse drama and conflicts.
-
Maintain open communication with the mod team.
-
If you’re unsure how to handle a situation, reach out to another mod or admin for guidance.
Standing Requirement
Your standing must remain above 25 to keep your role. If it drops below 25 due to infractions or inappropriate behavior, you will be removed from the moderation team.
Infractions applied to mods will be reviewed by admin and logged transparently. You are not immune to oversight.
If your standing drops below 25, you may request a private meeting to discuss options for improvement or return. I am not above seeing individual situations in times where an unfeeling number counter falls short. This is not a punishment; it’s an opportunity to reflect and realign with the server’s values.
Moderation bot command Tools
Mee6 Warning System
Use the following commands to issue warnings and track infractions:
-
!warn [@user] [reason] – Issues a formal warning.
-
!infractions @user – Checks a user’s past infractions.
Warning Guidelines:
-
First offenses should receive a verbal warning instead of an immediate infraction.
-
Repeat offenders should receive formal infractions without a verbal warning.
-
If a warning is issued, adjust their reputation accordingly:
-
-takerep [@user] 1 – Minor infraction.
-
-takerep [@user] 10 – Serious infractions or if a ticket is required.
-
Ticket System
Tickets create a temporary channel for staff discussions. Use this system to handle more serious issues privately.
-
-ticket open [reason] – Opens a ticket.
-
-ticket close – Closes a ticket and logs the resolution in the mod-room.
Handling a Ticket:
-
Open a ticket with -ticket open [reason].
-
Add the offending user to the ticket channel.
-
Remove their 'starving artist' role if necessary to disengage them.
-
If they do not listen, mute them for 1 minute.
-
Lay out the rules they’ve broken and explain the consequences.
-
Once resolved, close the ticket and document the outcome.

Granting 18+ Access:
-
If their birthdate is already set, assign them the 18+ role.
-
If it’s not set, Mee6 will prompt them to input their birthdate.
-
If they prefer to keep their birth year private, they may DM you instead.
Moderation Procedures
1. Do Not Act on Impulse
Before taking action, fully assess the situation. If in doubt, consult another mod or admin.
-
Moderators are authoritative figures but should not abuse power.
-
If you cannot act without bias, ask another mod to step in. Bias includes personal friendships, prior arguments, or being emotionally involved in a conflict. If you're unsure how your relationship with a user might affect your judgment, say so. Transparency protects you too.
-
When possible, de-escalate first. Formal warnings should be the last step, not the first reaction.
-
If you believe a user’s behavior warrants banning, present your evidence to an admin via mod-room or ticket escalation. Do not proceed alone.
(Obvious exceptions are if a user is spamming or otherwise attempting to harm users through DMing dangerous links etc. If this happens, make sure you put that in the ban-reasoning, with a screenshot of the reason.)
2. No Harassment or Ganging Up
-
Moderators must remain neutral and professional.
-
A unified front doesn’t mean dogpiling. If a user is already being engaged by one mod, others should avoid redundancy unless support is requested.
-
If you feel personally involved in a dispute, pass the situation to another mod.
-
Infractions must be applied evenly regardless of a user’s role, reputation, or tenure. No favoritism.
-
Mods are not above being given infractions. Keep each-other honest and sincere in your role.
3. Follow Through on Warnings
-
If you warn someone, stay and monitor the situation.
-
Do not issue a warning and then leave.
-
Half-measures confuse users. Finish what you start—warnings must be followed with presence.
4. Cover Yourself
-
Always collect screenshots and explanations for actions taken.
-
Be prepared to justify any decisions made.
-
Screenshots and logs should be stored in the mod-room and pinned. Use discretion, but document everything.
5. Stand your ground. Be firm, but fair.
-
If a user refuses to engage in a ticket, or attempts to derail it with spam, escalation, or otherwise refuses to submit to Moderation, muting the user is allowed.
-
Ensure the user understands that tickets, in themselves, are not punitive. They are to establish clarity, boundaries, and expectations in a private space. Tickets are their chance to give their side of the story, and if they decide to take that for granted or do not use that chance, that is on them.
Adventurer Academy Graduation
Moderators do not handle rankings at this time. Currently handled by the owner. In future, a specific ranking role may be created for this purpose.
Final Notes
Being a moderator is a responsibility that requires you to be alert and working in good faith.
Mods may step back for mental health or burnout at any time. Please communicate absences in mod-room or DM to avoid confusion.
Moderators must disclose any personal conflicts with users they’re moderating. If you feel emotionally compromised, another mod should step in. Everyone has history, and we don't want to put anyone in a position that may hurt their relationship with another, or open up old wounds.
But most importantly:
Just because you're a moderator doesn't mean you're not allowed to enjoy the server. Be yourself. You earned this role because of who you are and how you contribute to the space.
But when push comes to shove, your loyalty in any dispute must be to the server—and to the values that make it thrive. You are not here to control members. You're here to protect the space we’ve built, to guide it with clarity and compassion, and to make sure it stays safe and fun for everyone, including you.
Welcome aboard, and happy moderating!
