Willowhollow
Willowhollow is a place of Nature, the wild kind, the kind where you might die if you don't watch your step, but also the kind that's beautiful beyond words.
The trees grow so high you can't see the tops of them, their branches holding the homes and pathways of Willowhollow itself. Very few of the druids live on the forest floor. Spirit guides do their best to keep visitors on the paths, but the forest is a hungry place, and the lost are its favorite flavor.
With the Accord with the Rhae, many of the stranger things in Willowhollow have at the very least slowed down. The trees still grow in twinned pairs, and bioluminescent fungus still coats the pathways, but neither seem to concern the people that live here. If anything, I can finally see my feet on these high bridges, and the children look far less cautious in their play.
Wait, maybe that's not a good thing here...
Era of Serenity (Approximately 50 years ago)
Willowhollow existed in quiet balance with the land. Homes grew where branches permitted. Paths formed where moss allowed. The people listened, and the forest responded. The Hollow Wind (20 years ago)
A storm unlike any before uprooted parts of the forest and reshaped the canopy. When it passed, the forest felt… changed. Creatures unfamiliar to even the eldest druids emerged. Some were curious. Some were not.A Hum in Every Fern
The forest began to speak, but not in words. Plants responded to thoughts. Animals lingered longer, studying humans with unsettling attention. The druids believed the forest was remembering something it had forgotten, or had never known. The Forest Breathes Again
Following the Rhae Accord, the tension lifted. Spirit activity lessened. Paths became clearer. Light filtered through the leaves in gentler patterns. The forest, they said, had been appeased. The Forest Bleeds (Recent Event)
Growth has become stranger. Twin trees pulse faintly at night. Bioluminescent fungi now respond to names. They have been seen glowing brighter for those still living, dimmer for the long dead. Spirit guides are less bound to the Hollow, and some travelers claim they’ve been followed for miles. Willowhollow remains stable, but here stability and volatility are often the same side of the coin.
